Admissions

Point Park’s admission process is easy and convenient. After you are admitted, the Office of International Student Services and Enrollment can offer you the individualized support you need. There you can get answers to academic support, visa questions and acclimation to Pittsburgh and the surrounding area. We will do our best to ensure your success here as a Point Park student.

Tuition and Fees

After admittance, a one- time non-refundable academic deposit of $350.00 is required to secure your place in the upcoming term which is credited to your tuition costs. The tuition deposit is refundable to candidates who provide proof of visa denial. You can begin the process by completing a FREE application here. Generous merit–based scholarships are available to international students, up to $19,000 per year for undergraduate and $3,000 per year for graduate students. *Point Park will accept scanned transcripts for applications of the original AND translated versions (both must be submitted for review). If a transcript discrepancy is found, official transcripts must be submitted directly from the institution upon Point Park’s request. Students from Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria must go through World Education Services or International Consultants of Delaware for transcript evaluation and verification. For the M.A. in Media Communication:

  • with “Applicants with undergrad QPAs below 2.75 overall and/or less than 3.0 in their major are required to submit official scores from the Graduate Record Examination.
  • Minimum TOEFL score of 570 (88 IBT)
  • Minimum TWE or TOEFL Essay score of 5 (out of 6)

IELTS and ELS completion results are not accepted for this program.

English Language Proficiency

Point Park University accepts successful completion of academic ELS to Point Park without taking the TOEFL or IELTS test to most of our programs. Point Park University will accept proof of completion of ELS Language Center Intensive Level 112 as satisfying the requirements for English proficiency. Students who have met Point Park’s academic requirements but have not satisfied the English requirements, may apply for conditional admission based upon eventual completion of either the required ELS Language Center level or one of Point Park’s accepted standardized tests such as TOEFL or IELTS.

Transfer Admission Requirements

If applicant is currently studying at a U.S. institution, the following is also required:

  • Photocopies of all previously issued I-20s
  • A photocopy of the I-94 card in your passport
  • A photocopy of the visa and photo pages in your passport
  • Advisor Report Form for International Student Transfer, sent directly from the previous institution to Point Park University

WAEC results for Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Gambia for first-year students are required.

Minimum SAT/ACT scores for acceptance are 950/18 respectively.
